Financing dental Care
Dentist accepting insurance in Santa Rosa CA
Many of our most common dental insurance questions are answered below to help you understand how dental insurance benefits work and whether your current policy will provide benefits in our office.
What dental insurance do you accept?
We are out-of-network providers for all types of dental insurance.
What is an Out-Of-Network Provider?
Out-of-network providers are not contracted with your insurance company, but you may receive reimbursement from your insurance provider if you have a PPO-type dental insurance plan. Some dental insurance plans will pay our office directly, while some prefer to pay the patient directly. Please inquire for more specific details about your insurance before your appointment.
Why are you out of network with all dental insurance?
Our priority is optimal care, free of restrictions placed by insurers. Being contracted with dental insurance providers can limit the treatment modalities that dentists and specialists can provide. In addition, while overhead costs increase year over year, many insurers have decreased the reimbursement they are contracted to provide their in-network dentists.
How do I know if I have a plan that provides reimbursement in your office?
Your plan may allow you to receive reimbursement if it is a PPO-type plan. PPO-type programs allow you to choose your provider regardless of whether or not they are contracted with the insurance company. Unfortunately, if you have an HMO-type plan, you cannot be reimbursed unless you are treated by a dentist specifically named by your insurance company.
How do I know how much to expect to pay for the dental treatment my procedure will cost?
Prior to starting treatment, patients are presented with a treatment plan which includes an estimate of the costs for your review. This will include an estimate of what portion of your treatment will be reimbursed by your insurance plan, if applicable.
Will you bill my insurance?
Yes. As a courtesy, we will complete all necessary forms and submit them to your insurance. Please understand that whether a PPO will reimburse a patient partially, fully, or at all is up to the insurance carrier. Our insurance and financing specialist provides some of the most accurate estimates in the industry, usually within a few dollars. However, please keep in mind that you may require additional work or experience a complication during your procedure, which could impact the final fee.
Do I have to pay at the time of service?
Yes. Financial obligations are to be met at the time of service.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards. In addition, we can accept a check or cash.
